CSB Core Faculty | Gerald StubbsStructural Studies of Filamentous Viruses
We use fiber diffraction, protein crystallography and electron microsopy to answer such questions as: what are the three-dimensional atomic structures of viruses? how do viruses assemble and disassemble? how do viruses interact with their hosts at the molecular level? In order to answer these questions, we work with a variety of filamentous plant viruses. We are also developing new methods in fiber diffraction, and we have recently begun working with diffraction from amyloid fibers.
