Subject: AMBER: Amber8 Solaris installation failure

Dear amber community:

The Blade-2500 in question runs dual UltraSPARC IIIi processors with
the Solaris 9 OS.

Upon reading that Amber8 will only install with the Sun Studio compiler
package, I downloaded the 60-day trial thereof, and compilation
proceeded smoothly until i recieved this error:

cd ../lib; make sys.a
/lib/cpp -P -I/space/amber8/src/include sys.f > _sys.f
f90 -c -O1 -o sys.o _sys.f
cc -c -DSYSV -o wallclock.o wallclock.c
ar rvsys.a sys.o wallclock.o
sh: ar: not found
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `sys.a'
Current working directory /space/amber8/src/lib
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `syslib'
Current working directory /space/amber8/src/sander
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `serial'

Any and all help in this matter, as always, Is greatly appreciated.
