It still is using CC of solaris! Please make sure that gcc comes prior to
cc in path or some make sure it wont look for /usr/ucb/cc. That might fix
the problem. But Machine.sparc might be better one for your system.

Best of luck.

Hi, I am trying to install amber 7 on Solaris 8 on Intel PCs. Since I
couldnt find any documentation for Solaris on PC, I used Machine.g77 in
the src dir (we use gnu C and fortran compilers). However on 'make
install', I get the following error after couple minutes..

cc -c molsurf.c
/usr/ucb/cc: language optional software package not installed
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `molsurf.o'
Current working directory /soft/i386_2/amber7/src/mm_pbsa
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `install'

Please let me know if I am doing something wrong and if I should be using
some other MACHINE file.

Thanks,
