Hi Everyone,

I would like to bring it to everyone's attention that it is beneficial to
all subscribers on this list that you not post your message to the list
multiple times. After posting your message please be patient. It can take
the server up to 5 minutes to process the actual message and then up to 1
hour for it to be delivered to all recipients. The majority of people will
receive the message within a couple of minutes of posting, however, if you
use a commonly used public email provider (such as gmail) it can take
anywhere up to 1 hour for you to receive a copy of mail posted to the list.

Used of mass email providers such as GMAIL can lead to significant delays in
your receiving a copy of your own message from the list or other messages
from the list. This is due to the overzealous use of grey listing by these
providers in a vain attempt to fight spam. The main issue arises from the
fact that there are a LARGE number of subscribers from email addresses such
as gmail.com, yahoo.com, msn.com, hotmail.com etc. Thus when our server
attempts to deliver mail to these providers it results in upwards of 100
messages being delivered to the same domain. This results in the providers
believing we are trying to send spam mail and thus they accept only the
first 10 messages or so and request that the mail server attempt the
remaining delivery at a later time. The server will automatically repeat
this until all messages are delivered, however, this results in an obvious
delay to the delivery of mail. This is a sad result of the abuse of email
that occurs due to spammers and there is nothing we can do to prevent this.
If you want more timely delivery of your messages either make sure you are
alphabetically in the first 10 recipients or use an email address which does
not belong to a bulk provider of emails.

The net result of all of this is that if you post a message to the list and
it does not appear please be patient and wait at least 1 hour before
attempting to repost it.

All the best
Ross
