You are asking for 1 billion 8-byte elements, or about 8 Gbytes of memory.
The system is repsonding that it doesn't have that much memory. There is
nothing to change in the code -- you either need to work on smaller systems,
or get access to machines (e.g. at a supercomputer center) that have more
available memory.
