Subject: [AMBER] xleap, mac number problem

I cannot get my mac to write numbers in xleap. I have tried just about everything, and when I type numbers, I ge t!@#$%^&* instead (as if i was holding shift). When I use the key pad it doesn't write anything. I don't have a num lock key, to my knowledge. How can i figure out how to type in numbers in xleap?
