I don't do that: I just use my cygwin laptop to manage the web site, and
to provide an additional platform to compile programs and test patches.
Still don't know why this fails on my machine but works on Gustavo's. But my
experience is that little glitches/incompatibilities/etc like this happen on
Linux as well.

I won't discuss here why I prefer Windows on my laptop, but the reasons are
convincing (to me). All my group's desktop machines are Linux.
