If there is an option in the configuration script for using gcc instead
of the vendor compilers, you may be able to use that.

If not, and anyway, get the vendor compilers. They're free anyway,
and produce much better performing code on SPARC (and support modern
dialects of FORTRAN properly).

That's not the Sun Studio compilers.

The package you're trying to look for is SUNWspro.
