This probably means that you don't have the X11 development libraries
installed. My recommendation is to edit your $AMBERHOME/src/Makefile, and
follow the instructions that begin "If the X-window stuff is not
available...."

As Mark indicated, it would also be worth knowing what is returned when you
type "uname -a" and "gcc --version"
