AMBER Archive (2007)Subject: AMBER: Amber 9 install on Debian Linux amd64

Although the installation section on the manual is
clear, and the FAQ/Archive report on Amber
installation on some Linux flavors, I would be
indebted to users for specific guidelines, if any, for
installation on Debian Linux amd64 etch with
following:
---Dual-core-AMD-opterons machine (home assembled on
Tyan S2895 Thunder K8WE) with 4GB/node.
---openmpi.1.2.1.tar.bz2 available.
---Intel(R) C++ Compiler 9.1.042 installed.
---Intel(R) Fortran Compiler 9.1.036 installed.
(the above two furnishing runtime to installed
parallelized NWChem).
---Recent GNU compilers installed.
---csh and tcsh installed, though I use (and I am only
familiar with) bash.
---Gnome installed and optionally available, though
normally Linux is launched without X system; no OpenGL
installed.
That does not mean that I intend to start installing
parallel. I'll follow the manual's guidelines.
Thanks
francesco pietra
