And that's probably what I'll do. It does not make much sense to
inflict this on everyone else just for esthetic reasons. If I
come up with a FBSD port, I'll send the patches to the amber
developers to do with as they please. I'll also post a url here
as the other *BSD guys may have the same issue.

Good discussion, but somewhat off the molecular mechanics critical
path :-)
