Based on the No xauth message....are you behind a firewall? This can
block xleap but not cause problems with tleap (since there are no
graphics that have to be driven).

Try these to examine phase space:
Run tleap.
Give details for the platform actually running leap.
Goooogggle.
Get a stack trace via
gdb `which teLeap` core.{pid}

The seg fault occurs along with the color and font conversion error
messages every time I try to start xleap. Tleap seems to be working fine
so far.
 
I also get the message: ''No xauth data. Using fake authentication date
for X11'' forwarding if thats relevant. Would setting a display number
with setenv like I would do if I telnet in possibly be of help?
