Subject: AMBER: amber7 on digital unix

Dear Amber users,
i am facing some problem while installing amber7 on digital unix system.
we have g77 on this system but not f77. first I tried it by using
Machine.axp as the machine type but got an error:

mkdir ../exe
mkdir: cannot create ../exe.
../exe: File exists
*** Exit 2 (ignored)
cd lib; make install
../Compile L2 -P new2oldparm.f
cat new2oldparm.f | /lib/cpp -C -P -DAXP_OSF -DNO_SIGN -DHAS_FTN_ERFC
> _new2oldparm_.f
f77 -c -O -assume noaccuracy_sensitive _new2oldparm_.f
f77: Command not found.
*** Exit 1
Stop.
*** Exit 1
Stop.

next I tried it with Machine.axp_linux and this time I got the following
error:

cat new2oldparm.f | /lib/cpp -traditional -P -DAXP_OSF -DHAS_FTN_ERFC

fort -arch host -extend_source -convert big_endian -c -O -tune host -fast
_new2oldparm_.f
fort: Command not found.
*** Exit 1
Stop.
*** Exit 1
Stop.

Can any one of you tell me where i am going wrong and how to overcome it.
