Anshul,

> Yes you are right. I think the page is no longer available now.

Yes. Mr Andreas Botnen from the University of Oslo responded to my
message right away, saying that the files had been there by accident
and that he had not foreseen the possibility that the site might become
public property - they were there for internal users only. There is no
agreement for the redistribution of those files between the University
of Oslo and Intel, and so Mr Botnen removed the files. He also sent
a message to the Amber list stating as much, but obviously, the post
is not getting through because he is not a member.

No, I can't do it. There is no agreement for the redistribution of
those files between the University of Helsinki and Intel, either, so
if I did that, I would be not only in accidental, but deliberate,
violation of the acceptable use policy of my employer, and would
therefore risk losing my job.

I suggest you follow the instructions given earlier by Ross Walker.
If Ross says the 8.0.046 files are still there, then it's probably just
an issue of me not knowing where to look.

But, for whatever it is worth, v8.1 of the Intel compilers are able to
compile AMBER 8 just fine. You just have to make sure that you are
using gcc/g++, not icc, for the C/C++ language bits, and as Ross stated
earlier, it is not critical to the overall execution speed. I have run
the tests on the binaries I generated with the 8.1 compiler and to my
rather untrained eye, the results look just as close to correct as the
results I have obtained on SGI and Solaris platforms.
