hi liang (if i can call u so...),
the first warning message about the pre-existence
of the exe directory can be ignored..it is thrown out
when you try to re-install amber after an unsuccessful
attempt..in some cases, it some other cases also, it
may be possible..nothing to worry about that..

> /usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib/crt1.o: No such file: No such
> file or directory

this message generally means that the installation
script is unable to find the library files
required..do a simple locate command on your system to
find the path of the file crt1.o and then append the
path to the $PATH variable...

for eg. if your crt1.o is present in /usr/lib, make
sure /usr/lib is present in your $PATH variable..if
not, export $PATH variable again so that /usr/lib is
appended to it this time..

hope this helps you..please let me know about your
success/failure...

regards,
