Hi,

I am testing a Xservei G5 @2.0 GHz under macOSX 10.3 with the IBM compiler and
GNU 3.4.0.

- Single cpu benchmark only
- xlf is/opt/ibmcmp/xlf/8.1/bin/xlf

with Machine.g77 (G77_OPT "-O2")
| Setup wallclock 1 seconds
| Nonsetup wallclock 1273 seconds
-> (3600*24/1273) = 67.8 ns/day

with Machine.rs6000 (default)
| Setup wallclock 0 seconds
| Nonsetup wallclock 985 seconds
-> (3600*24/985) = 87.7 ns/day

with Machine.rs6000 (-O2 -qtune=g5 -qarch=g5)
| Setup wallclock 1 seconds
| Nonsetup wallclock 831 seconds
-> (3600*24/831) = 104 ns/day

I am pretty far from

http://apple.sysbio.info/~mjhsieh/archives/000334.html

I guess I am doing something wrong :(

Any clues?

Tru
