Subject: polarizabitlity

Dear all,

I have some questions about polarizability. In amber manual, it said"
charges are normally scaled when polarizability are used..." Is there
anyone can explain this to me. Why need to do this? Does that mean the
charges of whole system, including solvent, ligand, receptor all need to sclae?
Another question is how to choose the scaling factor for each of them? Is
there some papers I can refer to? Thanks for your time.
