        I'm studying a protein-substrate complex, where the substrate is
        peptide. I want to apply restraints to the region of the protein in the
        vicinity of the peptide, and I wonder if there is a way to make the
        selection implicitly, i.e. by specifiying something like "all residues
        within XX Ang. from the peptide)", rather making an explicit list,
        
You can generate the explicit list each time
with carnal's CUTRES command.
