I am a Research Associate Professor performing computational outreach services for Vanderbilt's Center for Structural Biology. My primary research interests lie in protein and DNA modeling and simulation. I have developed collaborations with many investigators at Vanderbilt to apply these techniques to a wide variety of research problems. I also teach classes and workshops, and provide one-on-one training in biomolecular visualization, macromolecular modeling, structure prediction, computational mutation analysis, docking, and simulation.

I earned my Ph.D. in the lab of Walter Chazin, as a molecular biophysics trainee in the structural biology center, studying calcium-binding proteins via NMR, toward a degree in biochemistry. My dissertation was titled "Probing functional diversity of EF-hand calcium-binding proteins through mutant design and structural analysis".

Before starting graduate school, I worked as a technician for ten years, studying antigen presentation to cytotoxic T lymphocytes, then using mouse embryonic stem cells to study pancreas development in diabetes, and eventually running Vanderbilt's Cell Imaging Core Lab.
