About

blue_vertical

The Molecular Biophysics Training Program (MBTP) encompasses a network of faculty, students, and staff working at the interface between chemistry, physics, biology, and medicine. The program is rooted in collaborative research efforts among training faculty who are drawn from nine participating departments. Research spans different disciplines and approaches, all directed towards understanding biology and medicine at the molecular level. The program is designed to bring quantitative approaches to bear on key challenges in biological and biomedical research.

All students interested in furthering their knowledge of biophysics are invited to join the program. The intent is to provide a deeper grounding in the physical sciences for trainees who have a biological sciences background and to provide trainees with a physical science background a more thorough exposure to the biological sciences and biomedicine. The core curriculum includes the Graduate Seminar in Molecular Biophysics and three meetings of all program participants each month. The program also offers funded research assistantships through an NIH training grant.
