The Eichman laboratory uses structural and biochemical methods to understand the physical basis for how proteins recognize and manipulate DNA structure during various protein-DNA transactions. Current areas of interest include: 1) the molecular mechanism of eukaryotic replication initiation, and 2) the base excision repair of alkylation-damaged DNA.
