Hi Francesco,

On Ubuntu 8.10, which I think is very similar package-wise to lenny, I
install the following on a fresh machine prior to compiling AMBER:

sudo apt-get install gcc g++ libxt-dev libxext-dev flex gfortran tcsh
g77 libnetcdf-dev patch
