Can you compile any fortran programs on this machine? The "new2oldparm"
program is a very simple piece of code. Usually when this fails, it means
that somehow the compiler or libraries are not correctly installed.

This code works fine our our Altix. However, there are some SGI/Altix experts
on the list, and they may be able to recognize the symptoms here, and suggest
the fix.
