My husband helped me figure out a work-around. If I only use the left
button and use option-left for rotate and command-left for move I can
do everything but zoom and it doesn't have a problem. For some reason,
option-command-left doesn't zoom. I can zoom with the middle-right
buttons until it is the correct size, click in the menu enough to
eventually get out of rotate mode (I'm not sure what gets it out, but
after 20 or so clicks, it usually does) and then use the key
equivalents to rotate to where I want it and do everything else. Not
elegant, but it seems to work.
