Holding Ctrl is the same as pressing the middle button. I.e. on it's own
does rotate. When held down with the right mouse button it does zoom
(middle+right buttons).

I can't find a key for the right button I am afraid.

Try tapping the ctrl key and see if this gets you out of rotate mode.

Sorry I can't help much more... Has anybody else encountered this on a Mac?
