It looks like there are problems with "editing" a parmaeter file inside
xleap. I'm not too surprised, since I doubt that any of the developers
have ever tried to do this in the last decade or so. I know that I have
always just used a text editor on the parm*.dat file itself whenever changes
were needed (and/or used a text editor to create a frcmod file).

We *will* look into this, but I'm guessing that for now (in addition to
the addAtomTypes suggestion) you will need to find other ways to edit
your parameter files.
